After meeting at Sendai Station, we’ll take a train together to Shiogama, a city famous for its fresh seafood. Browse the local fish market to select ingredients for your very own breakfast seafood rice bowl! Next we’ll head to Matsushima, well-known as being one of the most beautiful views in Japan. Stroll along the bay dotted with pine-covered islands as you soak in the area’s deep history and culture.
We’ll explore Entsuin and Godaido temples, paint a Kokeshi doll, grill and eat Kamaboko fish cake, and finish with a relaxing cup of Japanese green tea and sweets at the historic seaside teahouse Kanrantei. This course is just a recommendation and can be modified. If you prefer to do things like spend more time in Shiogama, ride a ferry around Matsushima Bay, do a kimono rental photo shoot or visit local museums, I am happy to adjust the itinerary (note that additional charges apply). The schedule allows some free time for souvenir shopping and sampling local cuisine if you choose.
