Every year in August Sendai City's most famous festival takes place. During the 3-day Sendai Tanabata Festival, beautiful handmade decorations with long Japanese paper streamers hang from the ceiling of the shopping arcade. Instead of using the high quality paper decorations only once, they can be recycled. In this experience, you can make your own paper lantern using this same paper. These items would look great when paired with a yukata (summer kimono) at a fireworks display or during even during the Tanabata Festival itself. They will surely look great in photos!
This activity is also recommended as a cultural experience to learn about the Tanabata Festival and Japan's culture or reusing old items.
