Iide Canoe Club "Submerged Forest Canoeing Experience"

Enjoy a 90-minute canoeing tour through the submerged forests of Shirakawa Lake in Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture. We will teach you how to paddle, so even beginners with no experience and families can have a safe and fun experience!

Eligibility: Life jackets for kids are available from 85cm tall, so children from 2 to 3 years old can join the tour with an adult. Junior high school students and older can participate alone.

Capacity: Even one person can apply for the submerged forest canoeing experience. There is no minimum number of participants. If the number of participants is more than 7, the reservation will be made on a tentative basis. You will receive a confirmation of your reservation once the guide has been arranged.

Please bring footwear that you don't mind getting wet because your feet will get wet when you get in the canoe. When you are paddling, your arms and pants may get wet. We also ask that you bring a change of clothes in case the canoe flips over. Bring plenty of water to prevent heat stroke. The weather can get very hot. Please also bring sunscreen and insect repellent. On bad days, it can get cold. Please bring rainwear and warm clothes.

The Iide Canoe Club's canoeing tours take you around a lake in the middle of beautiful nature. Surrounded by blue skies, white clouds, and chirping birds, you can feel like you are on an adventure. We will carefully teach you how to paddle, so even beginners with no experience and families can have a safe and fun experience.
