Tamamushi Lacquerware Postcard with Maki-e (gold/silver powder) Decorating Experience
Experience making your own postcard or New Year's card on lacquerware inside our "Tamamushi Lacquerware" showroom. You can bring home your original postcard the same day. Make an original creation using a traditional technique as a souvenir or special gift!

The experience program we offer allows you to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of "Tamamushi-nuri" (Tamamushi Lacquerware). Tamamushi is a traditional craft designated by Miyagi Prefecture. You can experience the process maki-e (decorating with gold/silver powder) using a stamp on the lacquerware together with the artisan, which is usually performed only by our staff.
Experience Flow (when putting name on lacquerware with maki-e)
1. Explanation of “Tamamushi” lacquerware history
2. Material, product description
3. Apply maki-e decoration
4. Drying
5. Put completed project in take-home box
6. Finish
During the drying time for step 5, enjoy a complimentary soft drink served in the showroom.
For beginners it is difficult to properly mix the material to make a clean finish. However, since a staff member will be working closely with you, you can have peace of mind.
*Please note that you will need to bring an apron or rent one from us for 500 yen to join this experience.

| About suspension of the activity | The experience program may be canceled due to a natural disaster. We will inform you whether or not it will be held by the day before. If it is determined to cancel the experience due to such circumstances, the host company will contact you. |

| About cancellations and changes | In case of cancellation or change of reservation, please contact us immediately. Requests for changes may not be met depending on the time and reservation situation. | ||||
| Cancellation Policy | ・ 80% cancellation fee will be charged the day before, 100% cancellation fee will be charged on the day of the experience or if canceled without notice. ・ Cancellation after stamp production will be charged 1650 yen regardless of the number of days before the actual experience. | ||||
