Experience wearing authentically-made replica samurai armor inside Shiroishi Castle, located in the center of Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture. The suits of armor are modeled after famous military commanders (Katakura Kagetsuna, Sanada Yukimura) from Japan’s Warring States period. An "Ashigaru-san" (foot soldier) from the Shiroishi welcome squad (historical character actors) will help dress you. Although this is a simpler form of armor compared to full-scale armor, you can fully enjoy an authentic experience since you can wear a helmet, torso plate, and gauntlets.
Come directly to the castle and select your armor. After dressing, we will teach you how to draw the sword and how to properly hold it. You can take pictures with your own camera. After you are done, remove the armor and the experience is over.
○ Flow of the Experience
Meet at Shiroishi Castle → experience explanation → select the armor you want to wear → put on armor → instruction on how to draw the sword, proper stance, and how to move around in armor → remove armor → END
Various courses are offered:
LIGHT armor wearing course
Try on a full set of complete armor. (required time: 15〜20 min)
GROUP armor wearing course
A plan for young siblings or a parent and child. Discounts offered for more participants (Contents are the same as the LIGHT course). (required time: 20〜30 min)
SPECIAL armor wearing course
In addition to the contents of the LIGHT armor wearing course, we will shoot a simple video and present the data.（required time: 30〜40 min）

| Important notes regarding participation | Please avoid skirts (because you won't be able to wear armor over your legs) and tank tops (to avoid contact between bare skin and armor) and wear comfortable clothes. Also, please note that you may not be able to fully experience the armor wearing experience depending on your body type. |

We have 2 suits of armor for adults, 2 suits of armor for children, and 2 bridal type kimono, so we are able to accommodate both individuals and groups. Please contact us in advance if you are visiting the castle as a group! *As a countermeasure against COVID-19, the staff member assisting in the dressing will wear a facial mask and disinfect their hands and fingers before and after the experience, plus the armor is also sterilized before and after use as well.
