Akiu Winery Tour & Tasting Experience
Experience the world of "terroirage (terroir x mariage)," a cuisine concept promoted by Akiu Winery.
All year round, held on weekdays (closed Tuesdays)
Number of Participants
Akiu Winery was first established in Miyagi Prefecture in 2015 after the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. During this experience visitors can enjoy a tour of the winery, a detailed introduction to the wines brewed here, and a wine & food pairing using local ingredients. The entire experience takes about an hour and a half, and you can enjoy it either alone or in a group.
① Check-in at the Akiu Winery reception counter 10 minutes before your scheduled reservation
② Introduction of Akiu Winery (tour of vineyard, winery, etc.)
③ Wine seminar and tasting by sommelier *the photo is for illustrative purposes only.
④ Finish (about one and a half hours in total)
◎ Foodies: Enjoy the mariage of wine and local ingredients produced in the surrounding areas. The sommelier selects local ingredients that match the wines made at Akiu Winery. You can experience the "terroir" of Akiu and the "mariage" of ingredients.
※The photograph is an image. Wine and ingredients change depending on the season.
◎ Photographers or Wine Students: Staff will guide you through the winery and vineyards. Enjoy an outdoor stroll and taking photos of nature and the wine-making process. During the wine seminar, the staff will guide you through the brewery and vineyards. See and learn how wine is made and how grapes are grown.
◎ The Traveler Looking for Convenience: Akiu Winery is in walking distance of Akiu Onsen Town accommodations, so you can fit in a tour and tasting before check-in or after check-out of your nearby hotel.
