In the 6th installment of the series for 2022, we will hold a "freshly milled matcha” experience workshop where tea leaves are grinded with a stone mill then prepared for a cup of green tea.

During this unique experience you can grind "tencha" (raw tea leaves before making powdered matcha) with a stone mill and immediately make the tea with it. Freshly milled matcha, which is made by grinding with a stone mill specifically created to make matcha, has a completely different taste from usual matcha. In fact, there are very few professional tea ceremony practitioners who have experienced using a stone mill. You’ll have the chance to experience this at the historic and Mogasakian teahouse. After experiencing the stone mill, you will be asked to compare the tea made with the stone mill to commercially available tea.
